Last night (It's Monday now so it was actually Saturday morning around 3 a.m.) I read a couple blogs about how Amazon has certain novels in categories that don't seem appropriate. The first thing that came to mind was: My Novel is for Adults. I should have stated that sooner.

Sometimes when I discuss certain scenes with my husband he asks, "Why is there all theseunhappy scenes?"  My reply, "Because this is not a Happy book. It's not for children."

Don't misunderstand me. There are times of humor, comradery, and even moments of love.  But, the overall book is about how someone lost their entire life to the whims of others and how that person is given a chance to get it back.  Granted, that second chance is encumbered by monsters, omnipotent beings, and one very upset ...O.K. you get the picture.

The point of it is, yes, it is for Adults. Just like this Blog is for Adults.

I tried to have a conversation with my husband today about the meaning of  "Young Adult" and he says YA is "18-25" but, all of my findings show it's 12-18.  I would say that my book is not for those under 17.

Which leaves my daughter out and I'm sure after she reads this there will be questions as to "why".

I'm looking forward to the debate. :)
